Yes, that was painful to write. You have no idea.
Anyhow, a multipurpose post because I’m awesome like that. (Which is why the artist for that song hasn’t come up yet; music yet to come.)
First off, a question; recommended reads? Now, I have to catch up on half your guys’ work (don’t even, no one other than my writing buds who are obligated by some strange force will actually make it to the bottom of this post), but I was thinking something more along the lines of physical copies? (Not that I’m not open to Inkpop/dA/Figment suggestion…damn, is this the post of parenthesis?) I want to try ripping apart*cough* I mean, reviewing a few books. Because, as you all know, there’s nothing I love to do more than rant.
Anywho. Music. LET’S GO.
Let’s start off with the title music…Let me introduce you to:
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour
I completely blame this person right here for this obsession.
These guys are just so completely epically ridiculously fun. Dead. Serious.
SERIOUSLY, it’s impossible to get good quality on Youtube now. Makes me want to upload my own music…I’ll have to loo into that.
Anyhow, apparently this piece is known for iPod commercial-ness. I feel like moron not knowing this since the iPod comercials have the most epic music. Case and point being here, I suppose.
They kinda make me think of a girly Muse with some pop thrown in and BAM. They just fit into their own groove (haha, pun *shot*), and make me bounce. Literally. I’m bouncing right now. It feels gooooood.
So FUNK-EH.
Seriously, it has a timeless yet dated kind of feel…Damn, that makes no sense. Anyways, the groove just doesn’t stop. I swear, I haven’t heard a song by them I haven’t liked yet. I DEFINITELY need t get a hold of an album by them, soon.
Angus and Julia Stone
Well. Changing pace is an understatement here.
These guys are just so completely mellow and indie to a kind of perfection. It just makes me want to zone out, just wrapped up in the soft thrummings of guitar and their soft voices. It’s like Stars, but minus the pop. Just I just called Stars pop. Don’t kill me, I beg of you.
I suppose if i were totally depressed or whatnot, this could have me curled in a corner, but I’m not an overly-cheerful person and it’s just so…agreeable. I dunno. It’s like the Meiko-effect (a topic for another post). Actually, they remeind me a lot of The Alternate Routes…Which none of you know either. Great. My geek is showing. Here, I’ll just give you the second vid and disappear back into my hole:
Oh. And because I’m a spammer, here’s my writing updates so I don’t flood FB:
~Only six days before I take Rain down and let it rot in that place they call a hard drive. Why yes, this whole thing’s a link, thank you for noticing!
~Part One and Two of meh new project, Like Thin Air, is up.
~The First Totally Unedited 500 Words, and the Second Totally Unedited 500 Words are up also. Unless you’re on FB, then you’re constantly spammed with updates.
